SSC Selection Post Phase XIV(14) Examination 2026

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications (EQs) and Experience

Candidates must ensure that they possess all the Essential Qualifications (EQs), including Experience wherever it is prescribed, as stipulated for the post(s). The specific EQs and Experience requirements for each category of Post, as per the requirement of the concerned User Departments/Ministries, are mentioned in Annexure-III of official Notification. The crucial date for possessing EQs/Experience will be the closing date for online applications, i.e., 04.05.2026. Experience, if required, must be acquired after completing the educational qualification.

Nationality/Citizenship

A candidate must be either: (a) a citizen of India, or (b) a subject of Nepal, or (c) a subject of Bhutan, or (d) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 01st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Candidates belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India

Age Limit

The age-limit for a particular category of post(s) is specified in the Post-details of Annexure-III. The crucial date for determining the age-limit will be 01.01.2026. Candidates must have been born not earlier than and not later than the dates specified for each age limit category (e.g., for 18-25 years, born not earlier than 02-01-2001 and not later than 01-01-2008; for 18-30 years, born not earlier than 02-01-1996 and not later than 01-01-2008).

Physical and Medical Standards

Candidates applying for posts must satisfy the physical and medical standards. For Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), the suitability of posts and the nature of admissible disabilities are indicated in Annexure-III. Only PwBD candidates with benchmark disabilities are eligible for fee concession, age-relaxation, and reservation. A candidate must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with efficient discharge of duties.
