Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University as on or before 01.08.2026. Candidates must also have skills in Stenography.
Age Limit
Stenographer Grade C: 18–30 years as on 01.08.2026. Stenographer Grade D: 18–27 years as on 01.08.2026. Only male candidates are eligible for Grade D vacancies in Border Roads Organization (BRO).
Nationality
Candidate must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 01.01.1962, or a person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries.
Selection Process
Stage 1: Computer Based Examination (CBE) – 200 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours. Part I: General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 Qs), Part II: General Awareness (50 Qs), Part III: English Language & Comprehension (100 Qs). Negative marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer. Stage 2: Skill Test in Stenography (qualifying) – 10 min dictation at 100 wpm (Grade C) or 80 wpm (Grade D), transcription on computer. Stage 3 (BRO posts only): Physical Efficiency Test (1 mile run in 10 min) and Medical Examination.
